About me
I am a Artificial Intelligence dabbler (or babbler unsure which) self taught and prefer it that way. I came to find AI fascinating after doing data analytics training and discovering these weird and wonderful things called Neural networks.
Fast forward two years I built a YouTube channel, built a neural network algorithmic stock trader, created some weird and different optimisers, built my own visualisation tools to look directly into the inside of these neural network things as they learned probably alienated several friends and family by not stopping talking about AI and did most of it during a pandemic.
So A Blog
Recently after completing Kaggle's courses I purchased the book Deep Learning for Coders with fastai & PyTorch - AI Applications Without a PHD. Suffice to say I love the title and the books content isn't half bad either I really recommend it.
And one idea that really hit me was the challenge to keep a Blog. Well as you can see challenge accepted.
In the past I had tried to challenge myself to learn more about AI by challenging me to post a video on YouTube a week. This was doubly helpful as it helped me learn a lot and show off my projects with AI but the problem with YouTube is a lot of AI work is quite verbose and its not really the right structure for talking about AI. You'll see a lot of posts tend to boil down to me creating a slide deck and talking over the top often very fast due to the 15 minute time limit that comes along with YouTube.
As a introduction to myself you can see some of my work below...
You can see my first Python Course here (there is 21 videos).
Python Genetic Algorithms Part 1 Decision Tree - YouTube
My R series starts here
R Programming Language Part 1 A Introduction To The Grammar of Graphics - YouTube
And 5 videos on the development of a computer game I did to learn C++
C++ Game Dev - Zombie Game Beginning C++ Game Development - YouTube
I have some published demonstration of my work in Python it's called Hive Mind it helps with project management
I quite like my Hive Mind work the idea is just to mass produce artificial intelligence to forecast project timeframes. Suffice to say It is a work in progress but it shows the difference in way's of thinking that drive me. So that's me looking at the AI and asking them to love them.
My big aim of this blog is to talk about AI in a plain English manner and particularly not focus on how one person can learn Python (Codecademy got there and monetised it before me) though rather to focus on how businesses might adopt these technologies.
PS: I called the blog A Logic Named Joe after the 1946 book of the same name. A logic being the writers concept of what a computer would be like becomes sentient and proceeds to disable all content blocks and share all information with everyone in a really inappropriate manner. There is no prizes for guessing the Logics name but unlike the story where the protagonist turns of todays version of a Logic the internet seems unlikely to be turned off; no matter how inappropriate it becomes.
I hope you'll find some posts interesting and you might follow along. Feel free to reach out to me on Linkedin.
